All users can click the “Forgot Password” icon on the login page of the web or mobile app to reset their password. Administrators are also able to update passwords on behalf of other team members. Additionally, they can generate one use tokens to give users quick access to their accounts prior to resetting their password.
NOTE: for security reasons, we do not expose the previous password. If forgotten, the password has to be reset in order to access the account.
Reset Password Instructions for Administrators
1. Navigate to app.withvector.com and click the “Users” tab on the left panel.
2. Click the name of the user whose password needs to be reset.
3. In the user profile card, click the three dots. Then, select “Reset Password.”
4. Once you see the Reset Password popup, type the User’s new password, then press “Save.”
NOTE: the new password must be at least 6 characters long, including letters, numbers and special characters.
Generate One Use Token Instructions for Administrators
1. Navigate to app.withvector.com and click the “Users” tab on the left panel.
2. Click the name of the user whose password needs to be reset.
3. Select “Generate One Use Token.”
4. Ask the user to navigate to Vector via the web or mobile app and input their Email or Phone Number.
5. For the password, instruct the user to enter in the one use token that you generated in step 3, which will be a series of 6 random numbers.
NOTE: The token will only work for a single log in, and should not replace the user resetting their password if it has been forgotten.
