Save time by using Vector’s SMS (Text) and Mobile Web (Google Chrome, Safari, etc.) check-in for your pickup or delivery. Unlock the ability to text facility staff if you have any questions during your facility visit.
1. Text the facility’s Vector phone number “Hi” by scanning the QR code on the signage at the facility, or texting the phone number. See the sample signage below.
2. Respond to any questions sent via SMS/Text message (e.g., First Name, Last Name, USDOT Number).
NOTE: If you don’t get responses from the phone number and are taken to this screen instead, click on the orange “here” link, pictured below.
3. Tap on the link to continue your check-in.
NOTE: You can use this text thread throughout your visit to ask facility staff questions.
4. Enter your appointment number, then tap the matching result from the list.
5. Tap on the "Check In To [Facility Name]" button at the bottom of the screen to continue your check in.
6. Tap into each of the tasks in your “Required Tasks” section to complete them.
NOTE: Required tasks have an orange pencil icon and are required to complete. Optional tasks have a blue pencil icon and are optional to complete.
7. Tap “Enter Check-in Details”, then fill out all required fields in that task. You will know you’ve successfully completed a required task if it moves from the “Required Tasks” section to the “Completed Tasks” section.
8. Tap “Continue”.
9. Some facilities have an entry “Gate Pass”. If you are given a “Gate Pass”, show it to the guard to enter the facility, or if the gate is guardless, scan the QR code / barcode on your “Gate Pass” to enter the facility. Tap “Continue” once your “Gate Pass” has been approved or scanned.
10. Tap to view your yard assignment and instructions. The field will be gray while the facility staff finds a door for you. Once the orange pencil icon appears, tap on the task to view your yard assignment. You will also get a text message notifying you when you have a yard assignment.
11. When unloading, loading, drop, and/or hook plus all needed instructions are complete, tap the orange button and proceed to the facility's exit.
NOTE: Some facilities have an exit “Gate Pass”. If you are given a “Gate Pass”, show it to the guard to exit the facility, or if the gate is guardless, scan the QR code / barcode on your “Gate Pass” to exit the facility. Tap “Continue” after showing the gate pass to the guard / scanner to exit the facility and complete your visit.
