Vector can easily interface with any TMS, Imaging, or ERP system, whether it's a packaged solution from any of the popular industry providers, or one you’ve built in-house. One of the ways we do this is by transferring document uploads to an FTP or SFTP server, you can now easily set-up in your Vector Web Portal.
- Log into the Web Portal with an Admin account. Navigate to the Account & Settings tab.
- Select FTP under the Company grouping.
- To create a new FTP connection, click the CREATE FTP SETTINGS button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Please Note: If you have a custom FTP already set-up, you will NOT be able to see it in this view - it lives entirely in the background. - In the box that pops up, fill out the required fields:
Connection Name - Name reference to this (S)FTP connection.
Admins - Email of the(S)FTP admin for future notifications and communications with Vector support for instances when the connection fails, etc.
Protocol - FTP or SFTP based on your server requirements
Host - The IP or DNS name of your server
Port - Your (S)FTP server port. Typically 21 for FTP and 22 for SFTP
Username - User to login to (S)FTP server
Password or RSA key - use one or the other for user authentication
File Type - Choose between TIFF and PDF for the transfer file format
Upload Processed Only (Optional) - Check this box if you want Vector documents to be sent downstream to the FTP destination after the Processed checkbox is ticked (and the document is saved) from the document's details screen. Please Note: If any Vector document is "unprocessed" and then "reprocessed", an FTP file transfer will result.
By default, our files are transferred to your FTP/SFTP server as Group 4 TIFs or PDF, with the following filename pattern: {loadNumber}_{docType}_{UUID}.TIF
For example: 775921_Bill-of-Lading_dd9217f0-0d4a-4243-9dff-fde2c1ab4ad7.TIF
... where:
● 775921 is the load number
● Bill-of-Lading is the document type
● dd9217f0-0d4a-4243-9dff-fde2c1ab4ad7 is Vector’s unique id for the document
