Spotters use the mobile app to fulfill yard move requests. If the yard move cannot be completed (i.e. due to the trailer being damaged, blocked, etc.), Spotters can reject the move.
Fulfill a Yard Move Request
1. From the mobile app, select the Menu icon in the upper left corner and select “Pending Yard Moves.”
2. Tap a request from the list to begin a yard move.
NOTE: High priority requests will be indicated with a red dot.
3. Select “Start Move.”
4. Tap “Hook Trailer.”
NOTE: If you exit the workflow or close the app while in the process of completing a yard move, the request will appear within the “Active Yard Moves” tab of the Menu.
5. Select “Drop Trailer” once you have brought the trailer to either the requested spot or the spot of your choosing (if no drop location was specified).
6. Confirm drop location.
7a. If a drop spot was specified by the requester and the trailer was dropped in the “Requested Location,” select “Save and Exit” to complete the move.
7b. If a drop spot was requested but you needed to drop the trailer elsewhere (i.e. due to the requested spot already being occupied), tap the “Trailer Drop Location Changed” toggle and input the “Actual Drop Location.” Then, select “Save and Exit.”
7c. If no drop spot was specified by the requester, you will need to input where you chose to drop the trailer by tapping “Select A Spot.” Once complete, select “Save and Exit.”
Reject a Yard Move Request
1. Complete steps 1-3 above. From the “Reject or Hook” screen, tap “Reject Move.”
2. Tap “Select rejection reason” and choose the reason from the dropdown list.
3. Once “Rejection Reason” is inputted, tap “Save and Exit.”
NOTE for facility staff: Rejected Yard Moves can be viewed within Yard Moves, the “Rejected” sub-tab on the Vector Web App.
