Create a Spotter Initiated Yard Move in the Mobile App

If spotters are able to move trailers around the yard when needed without receiving move requests from warehouse staff, then spotters should log those moves within Vector. This is essential in order to keep all current trailer locations up to date.

1. Navigate to the mobile app and click the plus sign in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

2. Tap “Yard Move (Spotter Initiated),” then select “Next.”

3. Tap “Enter trailer number,” then input the trailer number you wish to move within the “Search Trailer” field. Select the correct trailer from the list and select “Next.”

NOTE: If no matching trailer appears, you can tap “Create trailer” to add the trailer to Vector.

4. Tap “Select a move reason” and choose the reason from the list. If moving an empty, tap the “Trailer is empty” toggle. Then, select “Hook Trailer” to begin the move.

5. Once you have dropped the trailer, tap “Drop Trailer”.

6. Tap “Enter spot” to input where the trailer was dropped. Type the spot name into the “Search Spot” field. Select the correct spot from the list.

7. Verify that all information looks correct and select “Save and Exit” to complete the move. The new location of the trailer will be updated within Vector for all users across all devices in real time.
