Request a Yard Move in the Mobile and Web App

Yard Moves allow you to digitally communicate with spotters when a trailer needs to change locations in the yard. Yard moves can be requested from the Vector web app on a computer, or on the Vector mobile app via a phone or tablet.

On the Web App

1. Navigate to app.withvector.com and select the Spots & Areas tab.

2. Find the trailer that needs to be called to/removed from a spot, door, or area.

3. Click on the trailer and select “Request Move” in the upper right corner.

NOTE: the trailer’s current location and status will populate within the Move Request pop-up. Status can be updated as needed.

4. Input where the trailer should go.

5. If you would like to specify a specific location for the trailer drop, type the name of the spot/door/area into the search field and choose from the drop down.

6. If you do not need to specify a location for the trailer spot, leave the “Spot/Area” field blank.

NOTE: If no drop location is specified, the Spotter will need to designate a drop location upon completion of the move.

7. If needed, mark the move as “High Priority.”

8. Click “Save.” The request will now appear for spotters within their mobile app.

View the status of all moves within the “Yard Moves” tab.

On the Mobile App

1. Navigate to the Vector app and click the plus sign in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

2. Tap “Yard Move Request,” then select “Next.”

3. Type in the trailer number that needs to be moved and update the status if needed. Then, select “Continue.”

NOTE: Once the trailer number is inputted, you may tap “Request Move NOW” to skip steps 4-6 and immediately request the move.

4. On the next page, select a trailer drop location and click “Continue.” If no drop location is specified, the Spotter will need to designate a drop location upon completion of the move.

5. If needed, on the next page, add any notes for spotters to view and/or mark the move as “High Priority.”

6. Once complete, tap “Complete Request.” The request will now appear for spotters within their mobile app.
