Index documents manually using Vector's Imaging Module. The process of indexing involves assigning a Document Type and at least a primary reference number (like a load or order number for example) to a given document.
Before you can manually index documents in imaging, you will need to have the documents ready in the Imaging Queue. To learn how to ingest files into Vector's Imaging module, following the instructions here.
Once your documents have been ingested into Vector's imaging module, follow the steps below.
Index Documents
1. Navigate to the Imaging tab on the left side.
By default, you'll see all files that are either Queued for indexing, or have already been Indexed.
Select one of the Queued documents that you would like to index.
2. On the left side, you'll see a preview of the document.
On the right side, select and assign a Document Type (if there is not one already).
Underneath, type in a Reference Number. This is typically a load, order, trip, or invoice number.
TIP: Index documents even faster by configuring Document Type hotkeys. Learn how to set-up imaging hotkeys here.
3. Click the right arrow sign on the top right to index the next document. Continue indexing documents until you have indexed all queued documents.
Now that you have successfully indexed documents in imaging, the final step is to publish these.
